Programme

Livelihoods and Economic Empowerment

Nutrition-based enterprise, women’s economic participation and vocational training that leads to income.

NISD supports community enterprise that improves nutrition and income at the same time — including work on moringa as a nutritional food product, and support for women producing and selling handmade goods.

The aim is income that stays in the community: training, access to a market, and products that address a local need rather than a donor’s preference.

What this programme sets out to do

  • Support women-led community enterprise
  • Improve household nutrition through locally produced food
  • Connect producers to fair markets
